About Me
Im a Social Worker. I have a great husband and a step-son, mummy to Freya who died 10 April 2007 aged 10 weeks and Jakk who arrived on his big sisters 1st birthday this year. He is our little miracle.
Interests
I like socialising, reading, drawing and quadbiking. Dont have much time as i work full time and when Im not working Im either at the gym or running groups to help people with issues surrounding parenting.

Close Miscarriage
I lost my baby girl 10th April 2007. She was born 13 weeks early and died after 10 weeks of battling numerous issues related to her prematurity. She fought bravely until she had an MRI scan which found that she had a brain stem injury that affected her automatic functions e.g. breathing. She was ventilated and Dr's told us she would never breathe on her own. They tried her and they were right. Her daddy and I decided to end her care as we could not bear to see her living in an incubator.
Close Bereavement
I lost my baby girl 10th April 2007. She was 10 weeks old. She was premature born at 27 weeks. She put up a brave fight and lived for 10 weeks. During that time drs found that the part of her brain that controls breathing and swallowing was damaged. She would never breathe on her own. We decided to end care on Tuesday 10th as we couldnt bear to see her laid on a ventilator. Dr also said that she would die anyway within the 1st year of her life. I also lost my mum to cancer 7 years ago.
Treatments
- Crying Working / Worked
- Ive cried bucketfulls ever since Freya was born. The rollercoaster ride that is NICU saw to that. We never knew what the next day would bring.
- Prayer Not Working
- I prayed every day for my baby girl and it didnt work in the end. My faith has been sorely tested over the past few months. Im trying hard to get it back though.
- Group Therapy Working / Worked
- Went to a SANDS meeting. It seems that there are poeple out there who understand what Im going through apart from you on DS
Open Premature Birth
Freya was born 13 weeks early. She battled various conditions to do with her prematurity but when Drs did an MRI they found that the part of her brain which controlled breathing had been damaged. They said there was nothing more they could do. She died on the 10th of April aged 10 weeks. I miss her every day.

Open Pregnancy After Loss/Infertility
I lost my little girl at 10 weeks old. She was 13 weeks premature and battled various issues related to that. I got pregnant 4 weeks after Freya died and her baby brother Jakk was born on her 1st birthday 2nd Feb 2008. It was a hard slog but we got there in the end
