BPWIFEY's Journal

Wow, what a crazy ride.  I forgot how hard it is to have a newborn.  I think it is hardest on my older child.  he is really having trouble adjusting to the attention his brother is getting.  He has been getting in trouble at school and not doing what he is supposed to at home.  With Donte constantly on the road for his job or sleeping when he is home, I am feeling overwhelmed.  I am still joyous over havinga new child, I just am worried about joshua as I find a balance.  it is ahppening slowly though.  I am finally figuring out what the baby needs so he isn't so fussy.  The result has been that I can spend a little more time with Joshua.  Poorthing, he was so excited over having a baby brother that i never thought he would react this way.

 Donte still seems to be a changed man.  It is as though having a son made him realize how much he wants to have his family together.  he changed his phone number and now leaves his cell phone around the house.  He spends very little time on the internet and is much more affectionate--constantly telling me how he feels I am doing a great job.  He is spending quite a bit of time playing video games; but, I think that this is because he feels slightly out of place since he cant feed the baby or comfort him like a mommy can. 

Anyhow, things are better so far...we will see if it lasts or if it is just temporary.
