Another day ... feeling better about stuff in general ... at least for a little while this morning.  Decided to go to Josie's skate competition in Vegas no matter what pain may be and to go to Trunk or Treat with D#3's family (they set up their van as one of the 'trunks') no matter what pain may be!  Can't let this pain get to me and make my life even less than it was before.

Then I get to work to fill out paperwork to take six hours on Friday, making up the time beforehand as required since I'm almost out of vacation time and I find out our boss will only allow 4 hours!  Was a little pissed but kept it in ... sort of.  I'll be taking 2 of my last 8 hours of vacation.

Josie is skating both Saturday & Sunday mornings.  We'll be staying at a hotel near the rink, arriving mid-afternoon on Friday so Josie can practice.  I'm so excited for her!  She's doing really good and needs to be in these competitions so the skating world gets used to seeing her. 

This is only the 2nd time I've been to Vegas ever.  The first time I went by myself during the week in mid-November.  Stayed at the Luxor and just did slots.  I never play my winnings and only gamble with a set amount ... usually quite low.  I ended up winning enough to pay for the room for the two nights.  Okay by me!  I enjoyed the trip but wished I had someone with me to share it with.

We'll have little ones with us so my daughter will end up taking care of them most of the time.  I'll do slots again when Josie isn't at the rink.  They can walk around and see the sights without me.  I can't walk that much anyway.

Fires are still going strong in some places.  Funny how most news stops and people think all is well when the fires get to the back country.  There are still many people evacuated from their homes and lots more displaced who need places to live until they can rebuild or get their money from insurance, etc.  Most fire insurance isn't set up for complete loss of property.  The insurance companies expect some portion to be left.  In this case, none of the house is left standing.  The fire takes it all.

Continued prayer for these people is needed as well as for rain and respite for the firefighters.
