Married for 34 years, Mother of two sons - Grandmother of 4 Grandsons, 2 Grand-daughters Was officially diagnosed with Fibro in 1992 and went on disability after a 2 year fight in 1996. Again I find myself helping my oldest son raise two of his 3 children. I drove a School Bus, was in Business Management and was an Office Manager for a Chiropractor.
Love to read, crochet, knit, some wood-working. I love the water, fishing, swimming, & at one time before the fibro was an avid water skier. Spending time with my children and grandchildren is a priority in my life. I love going with hubby in his semi on trips. Dx'd in 1992, after a long long road to finding out what was wrong with me. Many doctors told me I was crazy! I found a very warm and caring Dr., one who's Mother has Fibro so he knew immediately what was wrong with me. I tried to work, but the severe seizure like headaches and the fibro pain caused me to seek out disability. That was a 2 year fight with the government. I have since had to change Drs., due to change in insurance - my new Dr. is very good and is very knowledgable of Fibro.
I have Osteoarthritis in my upper and lower spine. This is complicated by Fibromyalgia and CFS, along with seizure like rebound migraines. I also suffer with depression, but who of us dealing with a chronic disease isn't depressed?? I will never have 3/4 of my life back to what is was..
I have either raised or like now am helping raise two of my six Grandchildren. They are living with us due to the nasty divorce my son is going thru. Three of the six live with my youngest son and his wife, and we are always be called upon for help in one way or another. I go thru the "What did we do wrong" guilt trip, or is it just todays society? I don't know, I just know one day you're their ANGEL and the next you're an ass. I take it one day at a time with the kids, they will grow up.
Diabetic Type 2since 1992. I am taking Metaformin now and have been on numerous other meds off and on. I have a difficult time with a food plan and control my weight - there by controling my blood sugar levels.
