First and foremost, I am a mom. I have a beautiful 2 year old son who is my life. I just completed my Bachelor's in Business with high honors - so I'm pretty proud of that accomplishement. My heart is taken by a wonderful man & a beautiful son both of whom I adore. I'm origionally from Minnesota...now living in North Dakota trying to figure out what to do with myself now that I have college out of the way.
Interests
I love spending time with my son & my friends. Listening to music. I love taking pictures and writing poetry. I enjoy shopping with money I don't have for items I don't need! :)

Close Parenting Toddlers (1-3)
I'm a single mom with a 2 yr. old son. He's my 1st and only...so I need all the direction I can get! He's a handful!

Close Sleep Apnea
I've been obese/overweight for the better part of 10 years & about 2 years went in for sleep apnea testing. I was perscribed a CPAP machine that I have been using for about 2 years.

- CPAP Working / Worked
- It's tough to get use to...but I love the CPAP results.
Open Gastric Bypass Surgery
Had GBS on 9/13/07. My starting weight was 351lbs. and I'm 5'5. My BMI was 58 when I went in for surgery. Today, 2.29.08 almost 6 months post-op I am down 99lbs. and down 7 pants sizes. My BMI has dropped to almost 41 now. YAY!

- Gastric Bypass Surgery Working / Worked
- I've needed 2 EDG's done in order to expand the opening to my pouch because I wasn't able to keep solids down.
Open Smoking Addiction & Recovery
I quit smoking April 20th, 2007. I had been smoking for about 10 years. Officially, I'm still 'smoking' because I do smoke if I drink. I don't get out much- so that's not too much of a problem. I really don't crave them anymore tho.

- Cold Turkey Working / Worked
- I tried the patches and had some nasty nightmares...after 3 days of that I went cold turkey.
- Nicotine Patch Not Working
- I tried this for a few days and I had the scariest dreams. I couldn't handle that so I went cold turkey.

Being obese much of my adult life hasn't helped this, but it is getting better as the weight is coming off.

Disagnosed with depression over a year ago- right after my son was born and I left his father. Been coping ever since...Lexapro has helped.

- Lexapro Working / Worked
- I've had some unpleasant side effects (trouble sleeping, appetite)...but overall, I'm happy with it.
