I had to stop taking the chantix. It was making me extremely nauseated. So I'm now trying cold turkey. Not easy!!

Not feelin so good today. I am not depressed or anxious but I've been nauseated since last night. I started taking the Chantix to quit smoking yesterday and I started taking the regular dosage of one in the morning and one in the evening. I know it was probably too much, but I'm ready to get this quitting stuff going. I think I'm going to go lay down now and rest. Hopefully this side effect will wear off soon.

Nausea is a side effect of Chantix. A lot of my friends had problems with that and some of them just could not use it because of it. You need to talk to your doctor. I don't know anything to tell you about it. One thing, my doctor won't give it to me because of the new problem with it. He won't prescribe it at all now and he was a huge advocate for it.

Congrats on your decision to stop smoking. I stopped in November. I used the patch for a week then went cold turkey. I hope to stay quit this time. Good luck and hope you feel better soon.
