At 4:30 am we got a call from my MIL. She was concerned because her visiting nurse had not shown up yet.She is not due until around noon. She woke us up the night before because at 11:30(pm) she thought it should be light out so there must be something wrong with her clocks. For some reason her clock abilities are off. She goes to bed at 8 and then wakes up at 11:30 and thinks it's 11:30 am because there is no 11:30 pm in her mind. She's done this before for appointments. She called at 3:30 am telling us we were late picking her up for her 3:30 pm appointment. We don't know how to fix this. We tried to tell her to look outside and if it's dark then go back to sleep. That isn't working. We have tried to explain that my husband was sleeping and now is going to be very tired for work but she did it again this morning. My husband is trying to be very gentle but it is getting tougher for him each time she does this. I know it's tough on her being confused like this but we need to find something that will help her not call us at all hours of the night. We certainly want her to call if there is an urgent matter to handle but this is what she is calling about. She is still able to cook, clean, and do laundry. She is still able to ride a bus to the store. She just can't seem to figure out that there is two 11:30's in a 24 hour day and if it's dark it's not the right one to call us about. Frustration is running very high for all of us I'm sure.
it`s sad that any one has to get this illness. hugs to you trying to deal with the time problems.

I had thought of this before but with the way she was taking her meds I was afraid she would take too many sleeping pills. Now she has the machine that gives her the meds so she can't double up. That might just work. The doc can give both my MIL and my husband something to help them sleep since he now has one ear waiting for the phone:-)
