On the mainstreet of our small town, divided right down the middle by the state line of Virginia and Tennessee, thus State Street, gather tonight local people for the reenactment of Joseph and Mary’s trek through Bethlehem looking for a room! This, an annual event, is called “Journeys End”! Starting at one end of town with a meeting of citizens, holding candles and singing carols of Christmas, follow Mary on a donkey being lead by Joseph, block by block, as they ask inn keepers at designated locations for a room! At each stop together they join a church choir or local musicians singing carols rejoicing in the coming and birth of Jesus! Along with us were pastors of several churches, of every denomination, joined together to celebrate this extraordinary event! Several stops later, ending at the manger for final songs! A look around, I saw a dramatic display of faith and hope! Together, from all walks of life, from every social level, from every belief, from most every race, of all ages, holding hands and exclaiming “ do you hear what I hear ?” Refreshments end the festivities, warm cider and cookies! A warmth felt in each as I talked with many and we socialized there in the street! Another wonderful event from my home to yours!
Thanks for sharing this, Mike! I almost feel that I was there. I think that this kind of thing is the best part of the holiday season, don't you?

I live in a very politically correct state where I can't even imagine what you are talking about except by reading your journal. How exciting!
