So we decided to not give Jared his concerta over the holiday break. I took him to his dr. at the beginning of the month cause we had up'd his meds. Keeping an eye on his weight and blood pressure and that sort of thing. BP was good, but his weight is only in the 10th percentile...so she's checking him again in a month or so. However, he had gained weight since like June or July, like 4-5 lbs, so she was positive about that. We did take him off the meds in the Summer though...so we think that probably contributed. So far, it's going pretty well having him off the meds. He has his video games to keep him occupied. He gets along really well with his middle bro, and they have only really had one fight this whole break. So, that is pretty good. Being off the meds has caused him to eat like crazy...which is a good thing!! Hopefully he will gain some weight. The break has actually gone well.
I have been having headaches for about a week or so. EVERYDAY! ugh. Had a bad one this morning but took some meds and got much better.
Thats the news from me. Happy New Year to all my DS friends!

So, I have to write in here that Jared did NOT break his zipper. He thought it was broken, but it wasn't. It was just stuck on the fabric on the coat! Glad it wasn't broken. I don't know what I would've done. I can't afford to replace his coat everytime he breaks the zipper! I will say that the last two coats we bought him were from Good Will and so probably together didn't cost too much more than about $12 bucks! So, that is good. Hopefully this one will last all season at least. It would be a miracle if we could actually have one last until Zach was ready to wear it. So far, that hasn't happened since Jared was a toddler. He's pretty rough on stuff. I had to buy him a new pair of shoes because he wore the sole right out of his last pair. His brother, on the other hand, has the exact same pair and they show no signs of falling apart yet. SO, there you go. Mr. Destructo did NOT strike again..at least in regards to the coat. LOL.
We upped the dose of his Concerta to 54mg and we will see what happens. He was wiggling all over the place in school and driving his teacher mad, so we had to go up in dosage. If this doesn't work, then we will either go up again or switch meds. We'll see. He looks skinnier to me and as always, his weight is a concern.
So, we'll see how school goes. He was not doing well at the conference. I keep telling him he's going to be held back if he doesn't do his work and that means he'll be in school LONGER, ie MORE years. That hasn't seem to be getting through to him. ARGH.
I get tired just typing all this. I love him. Don't get me wrong. But sometimes, I want to give up..... I don't, but sometimes I want to. Thank God I don't give up.
Thanks for listening to me vent.

hope you feel much better soon, Sandy - catchup from Christmas with three boisterous boys! My little grandson is just so thin and small, I still wonder if he has ADD..I think so, to be honest, though there must be degrees of this..:(.......hugzz Cathrynn X
