    About Me

I was diagnosed with precancerous lesions of the vulva July 2004. I had a simple vulvectomy. April 2005 it returned, I had a partial vulvectomy. In May 2006 a large growth was found within my vagina and I had 8 weeks of radiation to shrink the tumor. The radiation was painful and caused diarrhea. In Sept. 2006 the tumor was still there and I was scheduled for more surgery. I wanted to wait until after the holidays so I could enjoy Thanksgiving thru New Years without being in bed. cont.

    • Close Vulvar Cancer

I had a radical vulvectomy in Jan. 07 with skin graft - this was the worst surgery, yet. The cancer is back and the doctor says it would be best to do nothing. I have increased pain medicine and am using Efudex to control some of the topical growths.

      Treatments

      Radiotherapy Not Working
External Beam Radiation was very uncomfortable and I felt really bad. However, after radiation stopped I felt better within 10-14 days.
      5-FU Too Soon to Tell
I have just started using Efudex 1 week ago and the area where its applied has started looking brown and grayish and more sensitive than before.
