About Me
been recently diagnosed with major depressive disorder. I lost my twin brother, my friend 9 days later, my father, and then my favorite aunt died 6 months later. My mother has metastasized colon cancer that is now in both lungs and now her liver too. I just recently lost a friend in May 2007. Yea... been through a lot!!

Close Colon Cancer
Stage: IV (Any T, Any N, M1)my mother has stage 4 colon cancer. it has metatasized to both lungs and chemotheraphy doesn't seem to be working. they are going to try one more drug to see if that stops and/or slows down the cancer. Well on August 20th, 2007, the doctor said that the cancer has now spread to her liver. He is giving her 6 months or less to live. :( She died 5 months later on January 5th, 2008 :'(
Treatments
- 5-FU Somewhat Helpful
- helped for a while and then they changed it after the cancer progressed.
- Avastin Not Working
- Oxaliplatin Somewhat Helpful
- It was working until one day last year her body just rejected it and she became unconcious and lost her pulse. The doctors took almost 15 minutes to resusitate her.
- Surgery Working / Worked
- Surgery helped to remove the cancer from my mother's colon, but by the time they did the surgey it had already spread to her lungs
- Xeloda Not Working
- made her feel like crap.
Close Bereavement
I was a triplet. One of the boys died a few hours after birth. I lost my twin brother in 1999. We were 13 yrs old. My friend died 9 days later. My father died in 2001 from a heart attack and then my favorite aunt died 6 months after my dad. My friend just died on May 22nd, 2007 very suddenly. I have to now add my mom to this list which is unbelievably hard. She passed away after fighting a long battle with cancer on January 5th, 2008 at 1:06am

Open Depression
Type: Clinical (Major) DepressionI have just been diagnosed with Major depressive disorder very recently. I have had to deal with a lot of deaths over the past 8 years and now my mother has cancer.
Treatments
- Ambien Working / Worked
- They just had to increase the dosage and last night for the first time in about 4 months I got more than 3 hours sleep....yea!
- Celexa Not Working
- I started Celexa last november... it seemed to be working but then in January I started getting really depressed again and ended up in the hospital.
- Seroquel Not Working
- never worked... i felt like i was a zombie... all i did was sleep all day, never eat, and when I was up I was crying.
- Trazodone Working / Worked
- I do sleep. i am in deep deep sleep... but i dream the entire time.. so most mornings I wake up feeling tired still.
- Zoloft Working / Worked
- Just started on Zoloft about 6 weeks ago. I am currently taking 150mg... and I am feeling okay today!
