I also have lumbar stenosis. It's not as scary as it sounds. It means that the opening (foramen) where one of your nerve roots exits the spine is narrow and is probably putting pressure on the nerve. It usually results in sciatica which shows up as pain in your butt and down the leg, sometimes to the feet. I am avoiding back surgery at all costs. However my Doc told me that of all spinal surgeries, stenosis surgery is one of the least complicated and most successful. It is minimally invasive if they can use a scope. They increase the opening of the foramen by removing bony spurs.
I also have arthritis in my left knee from a sports injury. For now, it's no big deal.
