Hello there,,

I am home, I did go and spend four days with my father and my mother!

He had sugery on Friday, all they were able to do was place a series of stints into one artery that opened several blockages and then they were able to place a stint in another artery that was also blocked! They have not been able to do anything about his lungs! He is still living on borrowed time! They (the cardiologist) did state that this is just a band aid! This is not a fix or a cure!

I have a big job ahead of me this week,, I get to battle Medicare! He needs a home healthcare nurse, but he is not poor enough to qualify, however, does not have the money to pay for it! The old catch 22 for our elderly! The ones that have worked for 60 years and paid taxes cannot get help, however, people that have NEVER worked or paid taxes get all the help they could possible want or need and just keep having babies that our taxes are paying for! (sorry, had to rant about the injustice that is being handed to our elderly!)

He also needs a home oxygen machine and we have the same problem there! Ok,, so they are not rich, but they have never had to ask for a handout before! NEVER,, they have supported themselves and raised a family!

I have two brothers, one came for the surgery and one could not be bothered! Such is life,, eh? The one that came, we had a long talk about what we were going to do! Please remember that my mother is still on Hospice,, she has the embolism on her heart! So,,, no stress here!

Both of my parents need the home healthcare,, I am hoping I can get their primary care physician to write a double prescription then I will have more ammunition!

Has anyone one of you ever dealt with this? Can any of you help me with this? I would really appreciate it!

Are your parents on Social Security? Well, my grandmother is and the state pays for a caretaker. My aunt is actually her caretaker. Its sound like a bunch of BS. That not ever right! I would dig.... Meantime, I will ask my aunt and get back to you on that.

I have no idea about this. Wish Ic ould help with info but i will look around online and see what if Ican find anything

I found this its a government resources on how to get home helath care. I dont know too much but I hope this helps

I had to deal with them a couple of yrs ago to help out my grandparents. I hope you have better luck with them. I actually got no where. It was a terrible experience. I'm sorry to hear you have to deal with those people.
