Yesterday I took the kids to see my old stompin grounds. We stood in front of the house I grew up in, talked to the mail lady for a while about the neighborhood. Showed the kids how far I had to walk uphill to school (thats not so far dad), showed them where I was a safety boy, where I threw snowballs at stevie wonder. Then we went downtown, went to greektown for lunch. it was so great. There is a casino there now, but they built it in existing buildings so it doesn't ruin the look of the area. The food  was a great as I remember it, and the baklava was the best ever. One small piece between us 4, that's all it took so rich and sweet.  Then we went and saw coamerica park where the tigers play, hung out taking pictures on the giant tiger out front.  Downtown seemed cleaner and much less desolate than I remember.  Then we drove around the historical areas and saw the mansions and great estate houses right in downtown detroit. Not many people realize that area is even there, but I assure you that you can see fantastic places that would fit in bel aire or beverly hills. 

Oh yeah, I played a trick on my little sister Debi, and she knows I've done it but she doesn't know what it is.  Back in 1959 my parents had portraits done of all us kids. I was 7, she was 1.  Her picture is of her as a baby sitting on a chicken, and this has been a point of joking her for years. So I got my 2 kids and her son to divert her, Brad picked her up and carried her outside, and I stole the chicken picture, and am going to take it home. I have my brothers picture, mine, and now hers. I'm going to hang it on a wall and then take a picture of me and the kids in front of these photos and see if she recognizes that I have it.  She is going to be so mad, but so what, she is still the little sister and I am not only allowed to torment her, it is my solemn duty.
