A Halloween Story

truth be known that the spirits ARE out there. On Halloween, I began my day at 4:30AM. Ross had woken up and was just quietly calling, mommy, mommy, mommy. I went into his bedroom(he has not woken in the night in weeks) and began to change his wet diaper.  As I did this, I could feel a cool breeze blowing on my left elbow.  I checked to see if the dog or cat were there, nothing.  All windows were closed too, it was now cold at night.  I felt it a couple more times and then put Ross back to bed.  When I got him up that morning, I asked, "Did Bradie wake you up this morning to say happy halloween?" He smiled at me, looked behind him at her picture on the wall and then babbled a long unintelligible sentence.

At work that day, above the church were two hawks flying in circles... I teach in an INNER city... never have seen a hawk there before in four years.

At the end of school when we were waiting for the busses, there was a rainbow through very thin clouds. 

Thanks mom, I know you were there. Looking back at the pictures of the kids, I know you were there too.  We missed your count of how many kids you had on halloween this year but somehow you were with us.  We love you...
