Where are you and how are you? I sense that you have a lot of wisdom and probably some humor and more to bring to our group. Maybe we could even bring something to you. Here's a hug to let you know that someone is thinking of you. Rose

Close Acromegaly
Diagnosed in 2000 with 2.5 cm pituitary tumor and IGF-1 level over 1200.
Treatments
- Octreotide Working / Worked
- Daily injections only got my IGF-1 level down 446, 14 months ago my new Endo put me on 10 mlg injections and no my level is down to 127 as long as I say on the monthly injections. The injection hurts, but the medicine burns for a couple of days. Heating pad helps.
- Gamma Knife Not Working
- Procedure long not really painful other than the screws in the skull thing. MRI mapping wasnt that fun since Ive developed a case of claustrophobia. Was told to expect some indications 18 24 months. Then 3648 months. Last window was 60 months.......still no signs it worked. If Im off the injections the IGF1 level starts to rise again. Looking back I would say the nearly 90000 cost was a waste.
