I have been married for 16 years and have a 14 year-old son. I have worked at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester for the past 13 years. I am working on my masters degree in community counseling at Winona State University. My passion, when I finish school, is to work with sexually abused children to hopefully stop the cycle of abuse, drugs, depression, etc. My philosophy is to live one day at a time and make the best of each day.

The short version. I was hurt at work 8 years ago, October 1998, and after fighting with work comp and the Mayo Clinic for 4 years I finally had to have a lumbar fusion. Had I had proper treatment early on I may not have needed such extensive surgery however; that didn't happen so they wound up fusing from L-4 thru S-1. I did great for about 6 months after surgery then the pain stated again. Unfortunately I got hurt again in March 2006. Now the pain is unbearable.
