Support Groups
Close Sexual Abuse
jewels73 hasn’t entered any details for this support group.Close Single Parenting
I am a 35 year old single mother of two, professional and high functioning addict. I have no support because I had to move hundreds of miles away from my family and friends to escape an abusive relationship. My son has a disablity that drains all of my money. I feel isolated and frustrated. I hope to find support from other single mothers in my struggles.
Open Financial Challenges
I am in debt for the first time in over 10 years due to medical bills. I am a single parent and one of my kids has a disability. When the kids were younger, childcare ate up all of my money, now it is health insurance. They won't give my son Social Security Disability because I am 300% of the federal poverty level. I qualify for no help and now don't have the credit to become a home owner. I don't know what I can cut out of the budget. I don't know what I can do to improve my situation.

Open Health Care Reform
The US healthcare system is keeping me in poverty. My son is diabled and I make $400/month too much for him to be on SSI, but cannot live on the SSI income limit in a town with as high of a cost of living as the town I live in. I cannot even afford to buy a house. I cannot move, because his specialist doctors and my job (which is stable but doesn't pay well) is here. If I switch jobs, I have to worry about gaps in coverage leading to preexisting condition problems. What can I do? I feel trapped.
