About Me
I am 48 year old woman with a 16 year old son and have been married for 27 years to a wonderful African man. I had type 2 diabetes for 16 years and last year got acute pancreatitis and lost all of my pancreatic function. I am a type 1 diabetic now, who takes lots of pills and shots everyday. I am not complaining but life by pill and shot is very hard to get used to. God is good and I have been getting better everyday.
Interests
God, computers, sewing, audiobooks, flea markets, yard sales and classic movies.

Close Pancreatitis
I had type 2 diabetes for 16 yrs & last year got acute pancreatis & lost my pancreatic function. Oct 2006 I went to the hospital with bad, stomach pain, fever & diarrhea. I passed out & went into a coma, then my lungs collapsed, my kidneys & liver stopped working & my pancreas was infected & started to dissolve. They did not expect me to live. After 5 months I was released from the hospital with lots of pills and shots to take everyday. Meal planning & balancing meds is hard Thank you, Lord!

- pain patch for pain after pancreatic surgery
- Humalog Working / Worked
- fast acting insulin with meals
- Senokot Working / Worked
- stool softener to stop constipation
- Hydromorphone Somewhat Helpful
- I take 4 per day I always feel like my stomach is being squeezed too tight.
Close Diabetes Type 1
I was a tyoe 2 diabetic for 16 years. last year I got acute pancreatis and now have no pancreatic function at all. I am type 1 now. My body makes no insulin at all. I take lantis and humlog everyday
