So I just found this site at the suggestion of a friend. I know that we have a 50% chance of passing this thing onto our children. Well this will be carried on in our family all 4 of my children are exhibiting signs and symptoms. Our daughter had the collagen testing done since she has dislocated her hip so many times. Of course she came up positive. Our 3 boys have a wide range other than the laxity in their joint one has pulmonary issues he is 13, our 11 year old has hearing issues, our 9 year old has typical EDS III, our 5 year old and only girl OMG her hips have dislocated I cant count how many times. She has major GI issues and knows she is having lung issues. So once the kids were done with Pt Ot and all their doc appointments, I pushed myself to the back burner for a few years. Well that wasn’t smart needless to say. Now I am paying the price we are all very active and I coach the kid’s baseball and soccer teams. Soccer is fat approaching and I am unsure if I can do it this year. Of course weight is one of my biggest factors, because of the pain I haven’t been as active and the lbs have creped on. What the first thing anyone tells you is loose weight. HA that’s nice. Oh well at least it’s a beautiful day and the kids and I will be going on a bike ride tonight when it cools down a bit. That is always something to look forward to time with the kids and we are all doing ok right now. : )
