Our family doctor prescribed Adderall for Nathan's ODD and ADHD. We need pre-authorization from the doctor to the insurance company in order for insurance to pay for the prescription. There's a ton of phone tag and being on hold. Sometimes I feel maybe this isn't the right thing to do, but then he has one of his episodes and I regret not trying medicine sooner. I've already called the pharmacy twice today and it is not ready. Today Nathan has been acting up a lot and is more hyper then usual. The trip to Walmart was terrifying. He finally was managable when he knew he would be getting a can of worms to go fishing with Dad this evening. I'm very anxious to start the Adderall. Am I crazy?

You are not crazy about wanting the meds. It will totally increase the quality of Nathan's life. I was worried and skeptical about putting my kids on meds too. But it has made their lives better!

I can so understand how you feel! I hate the idea of my son being medicated. He is on his second day and nothing bad has happened. I do notice that he is not having the melt downs and flipping out over nothing.
It will be interesting to see if his daycare notices any change.

i know how you feel. Josh is on adderall and it make a big differences you can tell when i forget to give it to him.

Hello. I do understand what you are going through. My son who is 11 now has PDD, ADHD, Mode DIsorders, WHat ever they are calling it now days. And Ticks. I got him on Fish oil when he will take it. I have gone the Medication route and did not work. You are doing the best thing for you and him. I so do hope it works. If you need to talk let me know. Good luck on this journey.
