About Me
I am a single mom of 2 great kids-Ron, 31, and Kristina, 25. Ron is married and lives in Spain, and Krissy is in her last year at George Washington U. in Washington DC. She is going to be an archeologist. Sounds like something I'd like to do. I worked with mentally retarded adults until I was "terminated" because of politics after 10 years. So I'm looking for a job. I have 1 dog-Maia who is a lab mix, and 2 cats. I enjoy reading mysteries, and I love playing the piano.

I feel for you. We are all potentially in the same boat as you are. But what kind of job are you looking for - the one that is within your profession, your career path? I know it seems hard to believe, but whoever gets elected president, something about healthcare will get done. How it is implemented though is yet to be seen.

Close Fibromyalgia
Hi-My name is Kathy. I am 58 yrs. old and have breast cancer, fibro., lupus, and a new disease-eosinophilic granuloma. I just lost my job, so right now I'm just trying to take control of my life.
Treatments
Close Breast Cancer
Stage: I (T1 N0)Hi-I had a radical mastectomy in 1995 and have been doing pretty well. My tumor markers have been slowly rising, but doc. says it will be like my lupus-it may not be cured but will be managed (hopefully!) Glad to meet everyone.
Treatments
- Chemotherapy Working / Worked
- CMF-hopefully worked. Cytoxin, Methotrexate, 5-FU
- Femara Working / Worked
- No problems-hope it is doing what it is supposed to do.
- Mastectomy Working / Worked
- Radical Mastectomy becaust tumor went into chest wall. Developed lymphadema in arm
- Methotrexate Working / Worked
- Hopefully helped destroy the cancer
Open Lupus
First diagnosed with lupus 12 yrs ago. Also have Fibro. and Breast Cancer and langehan cell histiocytis.
Treatments
- Plaquenil Working / Worked
- have been on it several years. Don't know how much it is working, but don't want to take a chance stopping it.
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- have been on this over 15 years. Have weaned down to 6 mg, but any lower then every flares up.
Open Financial Challenges
I have been unemployed since May, 2008. Also have cancer, lupus, and fibromyalgia. Do not qualify for social services. Most money from unemployment goes to buy COBRA insurance because of health issues-not much left over. Don't know how to pay oil bill (now $1400 since last winter). I am very scared.

- Have cut back on everything-even meds and food.
- Earn Money Not Working
- Lost job of 10 years due to memory problems due to Lupus and meds to treat it.
