Friday, August 15, 2008 | A Positive story

Well--got on the scales this morning and found out I had lost two more for a total of 4 pounds this week.  I wanted to lose the entire 7 but that probably was too agressive.  I have eaten very well this week with minor snackraids and most of those were dried fruits and nuts (on the diet).  I am surprised because I hosted a BBQ for all my exployees at my house this week and I had Memphis-stylle BBQ flown in overnight from Corky's (great BBQ).  We had BBQ chicken, pulled pork, sausages, brisket and lots of ribs.  I staged the meat n the grill so that it all came out perfect.  Then we had potato salad, cole slaw, pickled okra, etc for a really good spread.  Unfortunately it rained that evening and we all had to eat inside--same thing happend at my July 5th Cookout but everyone enjoyed themselves and we had fun playing Wii, which one of my managers had brought over.  I thought for sure I would gain that night but I was restrictive as to what I ate and threw away half of the desert on my plate.  Wife and I have exercised each day and we bumped up to the agressive two-mile aerobic workout this morning (I was sweating like Britney Spears entering a courthouse).

This weekend will be a challenge as we leave in a couple hours to head to drive to Virginia to meet some friends at New Market for the weekend.  My friend Dave loves italian foodand sweat profuely when he eats it (I bought him a headband once and told him it was for spaghetti eating--he roared). I ned to still focus on veggies and avoid the high carb high Glycemi Indexed crap that loads the fat on.  This will be a challenge but I so waned to lose 5 pounds this week and feel that if I can jjst keep my lose of 4, I will succeed. Laughing

You are so disciplined!! Having all that food around was a huge temptation and to still lose 4 pounds the same week. Tip for your weekend trip: drink lots of water (no other beverages) and eat small portions. The small portions will help if you end up eating spagetti or other foods and you don't have to make as big of a deal about what you're eating. Mostly avoid high cal desserts and fried foods.
