I was diagnosed with PCOS in January 2007 but have had symptoms ever since I can remember. My periods are always irregular and I have extreme abnormal hair growth as well as painful cysts.
Treatments
- Aldactone Working / Worked
- It takes a long time to really start working and it doesn't get rid of hair but it helps slow growth and prevent new. I was on Spironolactone a few years ago and didn't think it helped much so I got off of it and then I realized how much it was helping! I'm back on it now and it's really helping slow the hair growth.
- Oral Contraceptives Somewhat Helpful
- I'm on Apri right now but previously tried Yasmin, Yaz, and Ortho-Tri-Cyclen. None really seem to work too well.
