About Me
I am a 25 year old who moved from NJ to FL, completed my first year of teaching, and was diagnosed with Narcolepsy and Cataplexy all within 9 months! I am on lots of meds, which are definitely working to keep me awake, but nothing helps feeling so alone in this. Since I know absolutely NO ONE who is dealing with this annoying fate, I finally thought to search for some support!:)
Interests
I love teaching my lovely 4th graders, spending my summers at the Jersey shore, shopping, dancing, going for walks along the water, spending time with my family and friends, and learning how to cook!

Close Narcolepsy
I've been sleepy for about 10 years now, and now it all makes sense. I started showing signs of narcolepsy and cataplexy in college, but it went full force this past year, when I was finally tested and treated. I am thankful to have my life back, but fearful for what this means in the future. I also had being on the drugs I have to take.
Treatments
- Dexedrine Working / Worked
- It keeps me up the rest of the day! I finally can stay awake ALL day!
- Provigil Working / Worked
- It works to get me up and going, but doesn't last past noon.
- Ritalin Not Working
- It either did not work or made me even more tired.
- Xyrem Working / Worked
- For my cataplexy... puts me into deep sleep and gives me extra energy after I first wake up. I rarely feel weak from cataplexy anymore.
