About Me
I am 42 and a mother to six furkids. My husband and I have not been able to the have 2-legged children, so we have a small zoo. I live in a very rural town in North Carolina, having moved here just a year ago from Virginia, for my husband's job. I used to have my own pet sitting business but since moving here have not been working yet. My friends are my family - I have a small but very supportive and wonderful circle all of whom I love dearly.
Interests
Animals. Music (Queen, Def Leppard, My Chemical Romance, Beecake...etc.), Movies (Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Serenity, Star Wars...most sci fi, etc.), TV (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly, House, Boston Legal, Dr. Who...etc.), art of many types, crafting, needlework, reading.

Close Bipolar Disorder
I have struggled with bipolar disorder most of my life, but was only diagnosed a few years ago. The right treatment has changed my life for the better. I owe so much to the doctor who finally diagnosed me properly.
Treatments
- Abilify Not Working
- Absolutely did not work for me, in fact it made me worse. I was painfully drowsy on it, to the point of non-functionality, and it made my mood swings more severe.
- Lamictal Working / Worked
- This has been a miracle for me. It has stabilized me incredibly well. No side effects noticed, and I've been on it almost a year now.
- Risperdal Not Working
- Taking this scared me. My mood swings were worse, and I cried all the time. Worse than taking nothing. It also made me clench my teeth so hard I would wake up with headaches.
- Seroquel Not Working
- Stopped taking it as I could not stay awake even on the smallest dose.
- Wellbutrin Somewhat Helpful
- Took this for depression, not for my bipolar treatment. It helped with my depression somewhat, but since then have been more correctly diagnosed as bipolar.
- Cymbalta Working / Worked
- This is my antidepressant and it helps me very much. No side effects currently. At first when I started taking it I felt sort of dingy is the best way to describe it. I would space out. Then Id get used to it but have the spacey feeling when they would change my dosage. Now I am on a stable dosage and it helps alot.
Close Hysterectomy
History of fibroids, ectopic pregnancy, endometriosis and ovarian cysts. Scheduled for surgery on 15 July 2008, supracervical hysterectomy.
Treatments
Open Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Diagnosed with CFS in college. I'm 42 now and have extreme difficulty finding a doctor who takes CFS seriously. I mostly have to find ways to manage it on my own, still looking for a competent doc to handle this.

- Cymbalta Working / Worked
- I take this for depression. Not for CFS directly.
