About Me
I am a 45 year old female single parent of a wonderful son 24 years of age, never married, very independent. I have just started to take college courses and stumbled on this web site. I work in the Human service field for over 23 years, and believe I can benefit from Daily Strenght. I have low self esteem for so long I have attended some support groups and look forward to this. I lost a brother to suicide and have another brother diagnosed with a mental illnes who has made several attempts.

Treatments
- Writing Working / Worked
- I have utilized a journal as a source of releasefor my feeling good or bad what ever the thought may be. This came as a suggestion from counseling and therapy. IN addition to this I myself utilize a god box where I write my problem down and put it in the box for god to take control of. I have also tried to talk to friend about my feelings but at times it is hard as I feel my old self coming back stating you do not air out your dirty laundry. I like to write or keep busy to distract the negative and replace with a positive voice.
- Positive Thinking Working / Worked
- I have always tried to replace a negative or my stinking thinking with a positive as much as I can. I use slogans that I have learned I recall a message I may have heard from watching church on television. I may read a phrase from the bible just to move a muscle and change a thought. Positive thinking for me is a very powerful tool that can assist you. I try to evict the negative but when onc thought comes the rest start flooding in. Positive is the key to a healthy mind and a fresh start one day at a time.
- Cymbalta Working / Worked
- I was on effexor for many years and was recentlydiagnosed with Lyme disease which added to my depression. I was then prescribed Cymbalta which seems to be working well for the most part. I work in a residence where I am familiar with medications and the effects it has on the individual.
