    About Me

I was diagnosed with Lupus in 1993 aftre being ill periodically for many years, since my 20s and maybe earlier. I retired from my massage therapist practice in 1998 due to the Lupus. I had a successful practice and treated mostly injury or post surgical cases under prescription from doctors. I am a widow, losing my husband to cancer in 1997, he was my rock and caregiver. I had to leave my home in Hawaii due to the high cost of living there and have moved tothe midwest. I have a very close couple who are friends and take care of me when I am feeling badly. I have 2 children and 3 grandchildren. I feel the Lupus is getting worse as I age although I am on tons of meds that help I am sure on most days. I could use some support and talk with others who have Lupus as we are the only ones who really know how strange it can get.

      Effexor Working / Worked
I am on it now and have been for a few years but some days I dont feel it is working when the Lupus is acting up badly. Maybe that is unavoidable though.
      Benicar Working / Worked
      DHEA Working / Worked
      Flexeril Working / Worked
Knocks me out so I take a half tab and hope for reilief unless I need to sleep
      Folic Acid Working / Worked
      Hydroxychloroquine Working / Worked
      Lunesta Working / Worked
Take a low dose about .75 mg before bed to help me sleep. Pain will still wake me in early AM hours so I take Vicodan then for pain.
