  Good Morning ErinC421 Thanks for the hug. I collect and recycle hugs :) Spoke w my Brother yesterday and he reminded me that our Mother eats minium of 3 raw spinach leafs daily - it works as liken med w her DVT. I know that she also buys fresh brocc, califlower and head luttace.There are raw vegs that she has learnt not to consume. I know that she will not eat can, frozen vegs from store. I have ankle bracelets made to fit my Mother & sisters from "chain by the inch" I buy chain by the inch item from Bass pro store and they make ankle braclets in the store. Averg cost of 6 to 8 inch bracelet is $32.00 the bracelet that are pre- made and displayed are more exspensive than haveing braclet made from same chain braclets. Bass pro store has life time service on thier chains- braclets and iv never had a problem w then fixing and/are replaceing a broken braclet that i had made there. This past spring i bought a toe ring for my Mother from QVC thats on TV. we both where will please w it and iv learnt that qvc rings pongs half to be adjusted are the stones will fall out. I have a friend that owns a jewel..store and he reset rings that i obtain from QVC. My Mother says that her dite plays a big roll on effects of her DVT and that she seldom eats meat due to chemicals etc... thats in meat. and after she fixs hambery meat she rinses the cook meat w hot water to degress and lesson salt that already in pkg and frozen meat. I polish my toe nails diffrent colors and occassional add stick on nail deco and put a clear coat of polish over the decal :) this wk my nails are rose w blue tips w gold decal butterflys in center of nails. I buy nail deco from the dollar store - the store where everything is $1.00 each. Just something i do for myself which causes me to giggle when i look down while brushing my teeth and/are getting out of bed & see my toes,lol. You may wish to speak w your Dr to see which foods that will be benifitual. Hope you've opt to sport an ankle braclet. Oh my Mother say that the lotions that have tanner in them work will on her legs but not w light color clothing because when she sweats tthe tanner in the lotion slightly stained her pale blue slacks and to pervent hands from staining she uses a wash cloth when she out of rubber gloves to appli the tanning lotion. Will its cool outside so am going to take my doggies to tinnis courts so they can exercise. together my 3 small dogs might weigh 25lbs. I enjoy walking around the court too - followed by a nap. ya i use to be able to jump over the net now i walk around it,lol, age has nothing to do w it,lol, its the mileage!   Hey ErinC421 my Mother refers to her legs as woodstove pipes. she has 3 of 3 vein illness's and DIV has spread up into her grown area. and even though she is and has been on couadin for years will she still throws blood clots. When she at my home at the bch i get her to wear shorts. quite frankly even thought her legs are big and lumpy from twisted and inlarged veins, she has nice shaply legs which iv noticed men amireing the same way some men amire bird legs in short skirts. Due to vien poping and leaveing red & dark bruies, i got her to start putting makeup on her legs. she restyle her jeans to accomidate her legs. She cuts and sews the pants legs to where thier just past her knees and places a small slit on lower side hem area of her desiger jeans and even as bad as her ankles are due to pins in her ankles and DVI she sports an ankle braclets :) she says ever big leg girls need to feel sexy too. My formor husband and my brother in law ( na i nor my in laws divoced each other) personal body perferance being lrg woman and woman with lrg legs. i may never know not that i care to know why my formor husband wanted me since i only weighed 105lbs when we married and heavest iv ever been is 120lbs. So girlfriend show off those caf's and obtain at least 1 ankle bracelet. Having bird legs myself oh how i wish i had real legs. My Mother is going to have laser surgery followed by 4 yr proceeder - she going to have lrg viens striped out surgery - 1 leg at a time. My Mother heart stays in - irreguler faint heart beat and she is 100 % allergic to anth.- gas are injection sleep drugs- thats used for surgery. so far my legs are fine but if i should feel the need for out patient surgery w laser surgery for my ankle vien will am happy to know that i have that option available. Oh ya dite effects her legs and she knows when she requires veg.snack thats effective in decressing some of swelling. Take care and be good to yourself for yourself and DS buddys :)

  Hi Erin, Welcome to the club. Sorry you have to be here, but you will find lots of support here. I know that I have. It should help you to know that there are others out there that are going through, or have gone through the same things that you are going through. It is very stressful to be dealing with a DVT. And this is a place to find some answers to questions and sympathy & understanding. Wishing you better health & a shoulder to lean on if you need it. Tracy
