    About Me

My name is Holly and I'm MARRIED with two children and four grandchildren. I love animals and have two wonderful dogs and a cat. I'm no longer working. I used to work in a daycare with children and have worked in the restaurant industry. I was diagnosed with ms in 06' and believe that the reason I have ms is so I will learn to help others with this disease. I love nature and it helps me to feel connected spiritually with God.

    • Close Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
      Type: Relapsing-remitting MS

I had my first significant exacerbation in December 05' when I went completely numb from the waist down to my toes. I thought maybe I had a pinched nerve. I went in to my PCP and he sent me for an MRI and the results were suspected ms. Within six months I was diagnosed with definite ms.

      Treatments

LDN - Low Dose Naltrexone Somewhat Helpful
I have not had any relapses since being on it. I have had more energy too.
    • Close Hypothyroidism

I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's thyroiditis in 2002. When I first started feeling bad (extreme fatigue and muscle aches) I thought I had lyme disease or the flu. I almost fell asleep at work and I was standing on my feet. I've recently been diagnosed with ms as well in 2006

      Treatments

      Armour Thyroid Working / Worked
I like armour thyroid the best. It's the most natural and it converts the T3 into T4 or the other way around(can't remember) It is the only one that does that.
      Synthroid Somewhat Helpful
It took a long time to get where I felt some what better on this med. I suffered for what seemed like a year before they got me on a dosage that balanced my thyroid.
      Synthroid Working / Worked
I was happy with the levoxyl but had heard the armour was the best. My new PCP recommended it(armour) because his sister was taking it.
    • Open Depression

I'm not sure I have a story yet. I have MS and I know depression can go along with that disease. I have been depressed more often now than I ever was before. There is a history of depression and mental health issues in my family. I have not sought any professional help at this point.

    • Open Autism / Autism Spectrum

I have a 2 yr old grandson who may have autism. They(parents) are in the process of getting a diagnosis now. I wish to understand more about it. I am concerned for my grandson and his mother.

    • Open Hydrocephalus

My stepdaughter has hydrocephalus. She is doing well at this time, but has had to have quite a few revisions in her teens. She is now 22 years old and a mother.
