    About Me

I am 56 yrs old, retired RN on disability. Married to a wonderful guy and have two growen children with 6 grandgirls. I have had many spinal injuries. from various falls. i have fractured my back in a car accident. had a stroke, fractured neck (C2) from a fall down stairs. I have MS. and ashma and now sarcodosis, as of 6 months ago. It has affected my lungs, lymphs, spleen, jaw, and bowel, and now my joints. It has been going along fairly good until they started tappering me down on steriods. Altho I gained 5o lbs, I had hope it was working until my joints started hurting to the point that I can not walk. So I am a little down and needing support from others contending with this desease. I have great support at home but need you guys. Dotty

Hello, Sorry to hear the breathing's worse. What about the ankle? Is that healing ok? I'm not surprised you're getting puffed out; even without getting worse, this would be exhausting and a strain. My breathing's fine until I start gardening or moving furniture or shopping, etc. I get quite short of breath but nothing dangerously so like a few years ago so I'm counting my blessings. Take care. Hello Dotty, It's me again. This is amazing. I was so interested in what you had to say about your mother. I used to be in the WA Opera Co (Australia) and have done classical singing all of my life. I made a recording for my kids because I thought it might be my swansong. Sarcoidosis is not the best for singers. The lack of breath isn't so bad. I can sing with very little breath and make it last, but it has effected the throat muscles. When I sing for just a little while, my throat muscles tighten and then go into spasms. I also get headaches the moment I open my mouth but I can't give it up. I have a pianist who rehearses with me and is very understanding so we practise, stop for a cuppa, practise, stop for a cuppa, etc! I'm having a music afternoon in 2 weeks. Musical friends come over and we all perform to each other. It's like going to a terrific concert but better because they're friends and it's a social at the same time. Hope you'll have a better week. Willemina
