    I have been disabled for the last six years. Have two children with their spouses and seven grandchildren. Married to the same man for the last 38 years. Came from a family of nine. Husband came from a family of five. Love to crochet, some hunting with husband, fishing, and housework.

    • Close Bipolar Disorder

      I was not diagnosed with bipolar until about seven years ago. My family seemed to know before I did. They just didn't want me to know that they knew. I have been avoiding talking to anyone until just about a few months ago. Now I feel as if everyone is looking at me and judging as being a terrible person. The mental health center that I go to is not for me. I do not feel comfortable talking to anyone about my illness in a whole big group. Today is a really bad day because I am home alone and I don't have anyone to talk to.

      Treatments

      Psychotherapy Working / Worked
      Peggy is some what helpful because she does tell me I have a good heart. At least my mind is in the right place. Most of the time I think of other people first and what I can do for them. Lately I have been staying home and talking with Peggy because some of the thing in my past have been creepying up on me. Really they are not things to worry about. Being disabled for the last seven years is beginning to show on me. I have bee feeling more usless. Trying to find new ways to get out more.

      Support from Friends & Family Working / Worked
      My family is everything to me. But right now I need to start letting go because they are all growing up. My family has always been there for me. If it wasnt for them I probably would not be alive today. I have not had a real bad spell in over seven years. That last spell put me in the hospital. I was really messed up. Family is every thing to me. Also I have a very strong love for other people. I do not want to forget that I love animals. I have two cats that live in the house with me.
      Writing Working / Worked
      Just writing down your thoughts is a great stress relief. You can always write them down and delete them or store in a private place.
      Positive Thinking Working / Worked
      Trying to keep my mind focused on positive things can be more relaxing. Somedays it can be a very big challenge.
