    About Me

I am a 23 year old professional (I work in the building products industry). I have been married almost a year, Aug 11. In high school I was diagnosed with PCOS and a month ago the very meds I was taking for that may have caused the blood clot in my leg and lung. Whatever the case, I'm thankful for where I am and how God is using me.

    • Close Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)

Early June I was diagnosed with DVT due to sever swelling in my leg. They were eager to get Lovenox into my system so they were unable to determine the cause of the blood clots before I started the blood thinners. I'm now on the 7 month count down until we can do testing. I found out a couple weeks after being admitted that my clot had taken up my entire leg--crazy

      Treatments

      Coumadin Working / Worked
In the process of taking Warfarin. It better work...the other options are limited. haha.
    • Close Pulmonary Embolism

I was admitted into the hospital due to a blood clot in my leg. Basically I had a horrible dr who didn't ask any of the right questions. I left as overwhelmed as I arrived. 3 days after I left, I explained to my primary dr that I had been experiencing shortness of breath. Later that day we discovered I had another blood clot in my lung.

      Treatments

      Lovenox Working / Worked
while I hated the shots, they worked
    • Open Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)

At 17 I was diagnosed with PCOS, although I don't actually get cysts, instead it is a result of a hormone imbalance.

      Treatments

      Metformin Working / Worked
I was taken off of steroids and put on glucophage as an alternative, I wasn't too fond of the medicine, it has a not-so-pretty medical history
      Oral Contraceptives Not Working
The high estrogen levels the contraceptive induced may have been the cause of the blood clots I was just hospitalized for.
      Physical Exercise Working / Worked
This did not fix my hormone levels however it did help me keep off the weight everything else caused. It has been a struggle to keep fit.
      Prednisone Working / Worked
successfully lowered my testosterone in conjunction with birth control
