Today I was in the ER from 9:45am until 7:30pm. I was in unbearable pain on the left side of my back. Then it started moving towards the front of my abdomen, which I thought I maybe had cysts this time instead of stones. But nope, it was stones, AGAIN. The CT scan showed that my kidney was inflamed and very swollen and I had an enlarged stone, about 7.4 mm long. They gave me Flomax, pain meds, and a muscle relaxer to try to pass it on my own. But I have been researching the uses of Flomax with stones since I got home and everything I have read says that you should use Flomax only with smaller stones. Well, I have to follow up with the urologist this week so maybe I will have more luck with him. Now that I got health insurance I should be able to get my shock wave treatment. I've always had stones show up on the right side, never the left, even though most of my pain is almost always on the left. Weird, huh?
I also had a collapsed lung in 2005 due to a pneumonia that was misdiagnosed. Ever sicne then, I have had breathing problems and kidney stones. They recently did a biopsy on an enlarged lymph node in my throat but the test results were inconclusive because they could not get enough dianogstic tissue from the position they went in through my neck because of the arteries in my neck being so close to the site. So, I am going for another CT scan with contrast within the next couple weeks to see if they have to go in through my side and take the other part of the lymph node out and biopsy it. They are watching to make sure it doesn't grow back or any larger, and if they need to biopsy it or if they think it's just benine. There's been talk they think I have Sarcoidosis, but they couldn't find any evidence to back it up just yet. I have been having these breathing problems, pneumonias, collapsed lung, and stones for 3 years now.
Since January, I have made 17 ER visits due to stones. This is getting a tad bit crazy now!!!
I wish I could figure out what is causing them. They are always like, "Some people are just more prone to it than others". I have stopped drinking tea, soda, anything that even remotely suggests it could cause stones. Nothing works or helps! I am like a ticking time bomb waiting to go off daily...

I'm sorry that you are having so many health issues. It must be so frustrating feeling this way, while trying to look after 2 small children. I hope the Doctors can figure things out for you. Hugs, Cheryl
