About Me
I like to walk, play with my dogs, hunt, and help people who are in need. I like to volunteer and share my story if it helps others. I like to do crafts and spend quiet time on my patio. I live on a bluff with no neighbors for a mile. Very peaceful. I am a social worker for a supportive housing program. I work with single mothers with children that have substance abuse, mental illness, domestic violece, and disabiltiy. It's a tough job some days. But so rewarding when I see a mom change her life for the sake of her children and herself.

Thank you so much for the support.. Glad to have made you as a friend. I did do counseling years ago for the shopping addiction and it helped alot I think I have to get back in there because it's hard to stop and I want to! Glad to hear you are doing so well with your shopping problem :)

Close Shopping Addiction
My story begins last March 2007 when I had to face I was a spending addict. I hit rock bottom with 70,000.00 in credit card debt for the second time.Due to the shame, guilt and embarrasment I did consider suicide, but realized life is worth much more and I needed to get help. I have been in couseling since January of this year. It is very important to have others to talk to that have the same addiction and I hoping to find the support in your group.
Treatments
- Group Therapy Working / Worked
- I was attending AA groups but was the only one with a spending addiciton. They made me feel welcome but I felt like most of the group didn't understand my addiction.
- Talking Working / Worked
- I have very few people close to me to talk to. I know if I can find a good DA support group it will make a big difference. I have my counselor and husband. I need to find a sponsor or a support goup.
