We have been going and going lately and today we are going to go and get the materials for the goose and chicken pens.  Hubby has an idea on the fencing and how to set up the pond in the shallow area of the yard and we have a huge amount of grass there.  He is planning on enclosing a huge area of yard and the geese the hopefully the chickens will love it.

I introduced a chicken to the geese today and they (the geese) aren't to pleased with the new comer.  When we first got the geese the chickens attacked the geese and now I only put one chicken on the ground and it followed me to the geese that where feeding on the grass and boy did the geese get upset with mommy (me) being with another bird and not even a goose!

They settled down and hubby and I kept an eye on everyone and there was still some upsetting times but not to bad for a first time out.  Today we hope to get them all together in the yard and see what happens.  As we sat on the ground in the back yard with the birds we heard a thundering through the woods and I could just make out a mommy moose with a baby and then a tan smaller thing chasing them.  ARGH! That pesty dog from next door was chasing the moose!

Mommy moose wasn't to please and started to charge the dog and I hollered for it to go home!  Finally, after a few more hollers it took off and the poor mommy and baby had some peace, they both looked so skinny.  They must not have had a good winter and they looked so ragged, I'm glad that at least in our yard they can have peace and graze.  

We have had a couple of snow show hares in the yard too, I went and got the newspaper today and they didn't even get afraid of me.  They have been around for a couple of days and they are probably used to my voice and talking to our birds.
