    About Me

MS for 22 yrs. Use walker, drive with hand controls, scooter for shopping (keep it in trunk) easy to assemble, have upper body strength but legs don't want to cooperate especially in the heat (fl) I find myself single after 25 yrs of marriage and too old/tired to start again but can't live alone. I live with parent but that won't last for ever. Just not sure where to go from here.

Thanks for friendship! I am also still wondering about omegas, if you know. You already told me that 3 is good as is fish and cod liver oil. I'm still wondering if it is the 6 that is bad for MSers, and what about the 9? Take care.. I hope you are doing all right...

    • Close Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
      Type: Relapsing-remitting MS

I worked as an EEG tech. Went to live on a farm (dream come true), had blindness in 1/2 of one eye, "stroke, brain tumor", being from a neuro background! the eye Dr suggested it looks like you could have MS, AHH put pieces together, yes they fit. Didn't have ins so had to wait for MRI to confirm. Started with cane 10 yrs later, then walker 5 yrs after that. Still use walker, or "wall walk". Dizzy, heat REALLY melts me, so inside A LOT.

      Treatments

      Copaxone Working / Worked
I think it has really improved my health. Was on Beta Seron for 4-5 yrs, then 5 yrs on Copaxone and feel better.
LDN - Low Dose Naltrexone Too Soon to Tell
using 4.5mg @hs, no real big changes YET, but will continue. Only using for 5-6 months.
      Neurontin Working / Worked
When I find myself being weak and tired, I remember OH forgot the Neurontin, wow does it help. Don't know why but it does, I have NO pain but it just makes me stronger.??? why, but it helps.
      Physical Therapy Working / Worked
We (my city) offers chair PT every week. we get together and work/talk/laugh. It does help and if IF we do it at home would help even more.
      Solumedrol Somewhat Helpful
Have had 3 rounds of this in the last 6 years. Did help with strength some, but then I try to do too much and it negates the effect.
      Swank Diet Considering
YUCK, I want REAL food but I know it is better for me. I tried it for a while but didn't continue, had a family to feed also and it didn't coordinate with their diet. Will try again, I JUST LOVE SWEETS!
      Swimming Working / Worked
Have pool class once a week and swim at home when I have time. Better if the pool is COLD which it is ONE day in the year (Florida)
      Yoga Somewhat Helpful
Just started but feel nice to stretch. Looking forward to being more flexible and with that stronger.
