Close Fibromyalgia

I have been suffering from firbo for six years. In that short time, I have gone from being miserably dependent on pain meds from an awful clinic where I recieved almost no relief, to feeling better than I have in years because I finally had the courage to say "ENOUGH!". I am a huge advocate for holistic healing that treats the WHOLE person...not just their symptoms of pain! If I can give just one other person hope by telling my story, I will be happy!

Treatments

Acupressure Working / Worked

MIRACLE!!! FEELS SO GOOD, AND LASTS!!! People just need to do some research, because there are plenty of non-medication options for treatment!

Acupuncture Working / Worked

I tried this after being miserably addicted to pain meds. I thought it was a bunch of crap before, but after just three sessions, I changed my tune! Truly a miracle when combined with eating healthy and minimal strength/flexibility training (like water aerobics).

Aqua Therapy Working / Worked

Three days a week for over a year at my gym, I participate in their "water aerobics for fibro" that is done in their 85 degree therapy pool. WONDERFUL!!! I combined this with acupuncture and feel great!

Cyclobenzaprine Not Working

Again, given to me and many other patients to JUST MASK OUR SYMPTOMS (a.k.a., "shut us up"). Quit zonking yourselves out, life is too precious to be comatose for all of it!

Duragesic Patch Not Working

WAS MY DR. REALLY SERIOUS?! Unfortunetely, yes. This patch is given to cancer patients who are terminal, and just want to die a painless death. IT PUSHED MY ORGANS OVER THE EDGE TO NEAR FAILURE. WAY TOO STRONG!!! If you are on this, you need to detox asap, and see a new DR., because this med is unbelieably strong and toxic!

Effexor Not Working

Tried for four years...no help whatsoever.

Heat Working / Worked

Nice for occasional relief.

Lyrica Not Working

They claim this med is "specifically for fibro", don't get sold. Just another "Neurontin", I was on this several years ago (before the commercials), it is still sedating and ineffective! DO NOT BE SOLD BY THE ADS!!!

Morphine Not Working

AWFUL!!!! ADDICTION, ORGANS SHUTTING DOWN (I am 28 years old only...), AND INCREASED PAIN WERE MY ONLY RESULTS!!! This was not a solution at all, and I am now a PASSIONATE advocate against pain meds! THEY ARE THE FDA'S WAY OF CONTROLLING US (and I am not one of those conspiracy theorists either)

Neurontin Not Working

This was dangerously added to the cocktail of opiate meds by my old DR., made me very ill, ulcers, etc.

TENS Somewhat Helpful

Helped when it was combined with deep tissue massage, but as soon as I couldn't afford to continue, relief was gone.

Ultram Not Working

STILL AN OPIATE!!! Doctors will tell you differently, because it is "synthetic", but it is JUST AS TOXIC, JUST AS ADDICTIVE!!! AWFUL WITHDAWAL!!!

Acupuncture Working / Worked

I never believed in "Eastern medicines", but after my awful years on pain meds, I had a lot to repair. This took care of my pain, and all of the side effects left over from the damage caused by the opiate meds!
