    About Me

I am 38 years old, and have been doing telephone computer tech support since '98 (I am a service professional, if you please! LOL) AKA, a glorified answering service, these days. My job pays for my internet habit, and a couple of things besides. I was diagnosed 2/29/2008, and the confirming MRI was ran 5 days later. The doctor told me that it was definitively MS, 1 week after I had first seen her. I can argue with many things, but not the symptoms that I was having and the MRI. Well, ...I could have argued, and did try, but I didn't feel good, and the Neuro promised me prednisone if I went into the hospital for treatment immediately. roflol Yep, that would be me! Stubborn and bull-headed to the bitter end. Now, I am doing a great deal better, thank god, and hope to continue in that space for a very, very long time to come

    Interests

Sewing, singing, reading, SCA, playing with the kitty and spoiling him, shopping, 'thinking' about exercise (I am getting better at that, I promise!), laughing, learning about myself

Just try to stay cool... not sure what's going on with my friend either- one of her mri's showed a new lesion (good news=at least it was only ONE) so she thinks maybe that's what's doing w/her legs...she's calling dr today to see if they can figure it out.. Summer stinks, and you're in the thick of it down there- stay cool....

Hey Jamie..sounds like you're doing the best you can... my friend with MS is still dealing with the numbness/stiffness in her legs- meds aren't helping; nor did steroid therapy...she's just taking it a day at a time, but also gets extremely tired...

I was diagnosed 2/29/2008. I have just gone off the prednisone, and I expect the neurologist to start training me on giving myself shots on my next visit. I am stubborn. Thank goodness that I had people around me who cared enough to intervene (and yes, that includes my employer).

      Treatments

      Copaxone Considering
Haven't started yet, but this looks to be what my neurologist wants me on.
      Prednisone Working / Worked
This is a lifesaver! The only downer, from my point of view, is that I did not lose much weight in the past 3 months. Didn't gain, but didn't lost more than 10 pounds :(
      Solumedrol Working / Worked
Worked wonderfully. It had my wired for everything including sound and technicolor (heehee) but it worked on fixing things that I had not even realised would be affected by the MS.
      Ultram Working / Worked
When it comes to a neurological pain, Ultram cannot be beat. Whatever pain is left, does not involve the nerves. That works for me.
