After church yesterday, Brent & I took the kids to their Youth Swim Party. I just found out that morning that Brent had to fly out Sunday afternoon rather than Monday morning and I was SO bummed. I don't know how I missed that - all weekend I thought he'd not leave until Monday. So I was hoping to squeeze in some couple time while the kids were their party.
Then when I got home, I realized my cat Bella was REALLY sick. I had noticed this week she had dropped weight and her fur looked mussed. But I suspected she was in kidney failure - her ears and gums were yellow! So I rushed to her an animal emergency clinic about an hour away while Brent stayed home and packed. It was SO expensive. They ran bloodwork and confirmed our suspicions - liver and kidney failure due to feline anorexia. She is refusing to eat and her body is apparently taking from her liver to counterbalance - hence the renal failure.
Well, they gave her fluids and said I needed to force feed her until I could get her into my vet tomorrow. Some cats even need a feeding tube. She did let us feed her and actually ate a little on her own. But this AM - will not eat.
I have some touch decisions to make.

Sorry to hear about your cat and I understand exactly how hard a decision to let her go can be. Hsad to do the same thing 15 yrs ago and it killed me but it was better for him and I knew I was only marking time before it happened anyway. We could not afford all it would have taken to keep him for another year, if that.
I'm also soory about your fiance leaving earlier than expected. That little bit more of personal time can be so important. It is never enough but we think it will help so much, don't we?....Sylvia (PudsyP)

I'm sorry to hear that Bella is so sick. They are the loves of our lives, just like our kids. The vet is always sooo expensive, but we do what we can for our beloved pets ! Hope she's feeling better.
