Hi Everyone,My name is Mary Ellen and I'm an acoholic. My sobriety dat is Dec. 2, 1992. I am new to this group, but have a few 24 hour sober.

12 Step Program Working / Worked

As long as you work the steps, attend meetings,get a sponser and use them, read and do as sugested in the big book and 12 by 12, pick up the 25000 lbs. phone and stay out of old playgrounds.

AA Meetings Working / Worked

Still go to meetings, I find when I quit, I go into old behavior. Not able to attend many meetings anymore, for medical purposes.

Cold Turkey Working / Worked

I had to wean myself and then cold turkey. Switching from one to another didn't work a drug is a drug is a drug. including alcohol.

Open Thyroid Cancer

I was informed a year ago that I have multiple nodules on my thyroid and to be rechecked in Aug 08.

Open High Blood Pressure

I have had high B/P since I was a teenager. Both my mother and father have heart disease. I have been on medication most of my life.

Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Working / Worked

I don't eat foods that has salt. Ie: chips, on foods, most can goods ect have sufficient salt in it. You do need salt in your diet.

Dyazide Working / Worked

Have been on it since I was 21 yrs old. Recently Dr. took me off and changed meds.

On now, seems to work well
