Close Degenerative Disc Disease
I was fit as I biked, ran and skiied. In 2000 at 35, diagnosed with 3 herniations and some DDD. Since then, included strengthening in workouts, continued some activities and remained working. In 4/2008, had a progressive flare-up with severe pain & inability to stand erect or sit. Applied for short term disability for the temporary issue. Was denied as the insurance company said "So what..you have DDD. Most with sedentary jobs do and still work. We do not pay claims based on pain." Help!
