    About Me

I am doing relatively well, all things considered. My lifestyle is different because of Crohn's. I try to stay positive, but do get lonely sometimes. Most people have no idea how sick I am. My Drs truly think that I an crazy for working.Single mom of 3 wonderful sons-18 and 21. The 21 yr old is currently visiting for 2 months because of legalities with the EU. He lives in Poland with his fiance.

    Interests

I have many interests, but no energy to pursue them. In what now seems to be a former life, I hiked, traveled, studied linguistics, jazz clubs, gardening, and much more. These days I sit at the beach or go to a movie. My current photo shows me at my spot watching the last shuttle lift off with my soon to be Polish son. I relocated to FL(to be near parents) from Oregon following the death of my oldest son.

I agree with peppershaker, stretching. If that doesn't work for you, then you may have to prepare yourself for the next level, maybe a cane, for off days. You will know what is right for you. Have a good day! Debbie

    • Close Crohn's Disease & Ulcerative Colitis

I've had Crohn's for 20 years. I've mostly had problems with inflammatory arthritis, fibromyalgia and auto-immune complications. The intestinal prolems just began 4 years ago following the stress from my son's death. The intestinal problems are under control, but still struggle with muscle/joint problems, etc. Some depression when I am not busy.

      Treatments

      Humira Working / Worked
      Has helped with digestive difficulties.
    • Close Fibromyalgia

I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 1991. I also have Crohn's. I've had severe muscle problems in past 4 years. Not sure if it's fibro or something else. One Dr said that my muscles were breaking down. My current rheumatologist keeps checking me for kidney failure. I've had an elevated muscle enzyme for 4 years now.

      Treatments

      Cymbalta Not Working
      caused memory problems and drowsiness
      Duragesic Patch Somewhat Helpful
I would not take this again. I went through full drug withdrawals getting off of this.
      Lyrica Working / Worked
has been working, but not completely
      TENS Somewhat Helpful
      Ultram Working / Worked
      helps with some pain
