About Me

I lost my home of 23 years about four years ago. I was a substitute teacher for the last ten years, but the Detroit Public Schools has been on a downward spiral for the last five years. I wasn't able to find employment during this spiral down period, although I did continue to work for the Board up until the end of June, 2007 school year. Although I owe student loans, I was unable to complete my teaching certification because I needed more money and since I have been unemployed, I can't get another loan nor can I pay the loan I already have incurred. I live in a terrible, drug ridden neighborhood with my mother, my son, his girlfriend, and their three children. Along with my oldest sister and her two granddaughters which both girls are twelve years of age, however, the youngest of the two is dangerously mentally impaired so I must be on a constant watch for the safety of my young grand children of 5, 2, and 4 months. My mother and I share difference of opinions and her favorite granddaughter visits only to physically assault me
