Close Fibromyalgia

diagnosed March 2007 after years of minor pain. Thought I was just a 'wuss' because i'd had it all my life - i.e., it was normal for me, so, it must be normal for everyone…and so if everyone handles it how come i can't? So I shut up & kept going. Then a problem led me again to the dr, who poked&prodded and was surprised that it all hurt. That was first time I learned my pain (& fatigue) were not normal. Thank goodness Rheum found d it was ‘only’ fibro. Wow! I’m NOT a ‘wuss’!

Treatments

Elavil Working / Worked

amitriptyline - just made me sleepy all the time. another drug in same class did the same. a 3rd anti-depressant made me suicidal.

Lyrica Working / Worked

have been on for ~2 weeks now, just increased dosage per dr's instr after the 1-week adjustment period. Makes me very calm & constipation side-effect was welcomed as I have IBS. but wtg to see if unexpected diarrhea is due to that or some other reason Dosage: 50mg 3x/day Side effects: no obvious negatives thus far.

Ambien Working / Worked

worked ok for about 6-7 months, but didn't realize how sleepy & more fatigued it made me until unintentionally went off of it during a long weekend when I didn't take it because didn't have enough time for it to cycle through system before having to get up in the a.m. Bounced back with amazing energy for about two weeks, then poor sleep quality put me back where i was before i started it. Dosage was only 2.5mg (i really over-respond to meds.)
