well. i come to find out this past monday that my son is manic depressive, in other words, Bi-polar. I am familar with Bi-polar as I worked with children afflicted with this disorder at my former job. Looking back it kind of makes sense. He goes thru manic episodes of extreme highs and lows. he is a wonderful child and his dad kind of gave up on him and he said to him to come and stay with me for the summer. He is now 17 and is with me for the summer. he actually prefers to be here rather than at home because I baby him and he canbe however he wants to be and i can better toleratehis moods suffering from depression myself.Heres to a great summer. Any advice on Bipolar is welcome. Thanks so much.
don't know anything on that wish you lots of luck and give him lots of love...god bless you both

I have no idea what Bipolar is all about, but I wish you much luck and I know it has to be difficult...

Any Bipolar questions you have, PLEASE feel free to ask me. I have been personally dealing with it for years. The current wave of thinking is NO ANTI-DEPRESSANTS for Bipolars. These can cause manic episodes. I have been having wonderful results from Lamictal and Abilify. I still have my anger, though (my form of mania -- my form of mania is NOT fun!) and it catches me off guard because it comes up so quickly. It usually results in me breaking things -- the offending object that ceased working the way I think it should -- but I haven't done that in a good number of months. Any questions you have just send them right my way. I will help you in any way I can.
