About Me
I am a 50 year old hippie grama, still a psychotherapist at heart (MA in clinical psych, but disabled now) and a musician but finding it more and more difficult to play (cello, guitar, composition, vocal.) I am a Reiki Master and have practiced EMDR and EFT along with other adjunctive, holistic therapies like aromatherapy. I love books and movies of good stories.

Close Trigeminal Neuralgia
I was recently in the ER with facial pain and was finally diagnosed with TN after many years of pain, many root canals and several missing molars. I would love to connect with others who know about this excruciating problem.
Close Fibromyalgia
I am still confused by my fibro diagnosis and symptoms. I am glad to find this group!
Treatments
- TENS Somewhat Helpful
- My tens works well for a reprieve while I am using it and an hour or so beyond with my back pain. I have not tried it anywhere but my lower back yet.
Open Degenerative Disc Disease
I have had severe back pain since 1977. Now x-rays show DDD. I have fibromyalgia, trigeminal neuralgia, inflammatory arthritis and several other diagnoses. The other support groups I've joined here have been helpful, so I am joining you too.
Open Arthritis
I have been diagnosed with "inflammatory arthritis" because I do not have the blood marker for rheumatoid arthritis. I also have several other ailments and have been involved in other supports groups here - thought I would try this one too.
Open Hypothyroidism
All the women on my mom's side have had a thyroid condition, but only one of my daughters so far. I had a multinodular goiter to start out with. I have many other health problems now. I wonder if my thyroid played a part in the development of the other issues.
Treatments
- Synthroid Somewhat Helpful
- I have a high dose - .175 and have varied a little over the years. I am concerned that I will develop osteoporosis from it.
Open Lesbian Relationship Challenges
Hi, I finally came out when I was in my mid 30's and I'm now 50ish. I have had several gay relationships and I'm currently in my most succesful one. We are not totally perfect, though, so I thought this group would be helpful. Thanks everyone!
