Don't give up on your daughter, no matter what. Tough love.. I've cut for over 10 years, my parents blew it off and when finally said "you have a problem" they left it up to my counselor. Keep on her, she will thank you for it eventually. Don't ever give up.. I'm here if you ever wanna talk.

I am so happy that you are being so proactive regarding your daughter's condition and supporting her through this difficult time. I wish that there were more parents who would go to such lengths as to come on a website such as this and look for ways to help your daughter. For about three to four years, I turned to cutting to release my pent up frustrations and pain. My parents didn't react anywhere near to the point of what you're doing and I think that their lack of attention actually fueled the fire for me to cut more. If there is any advice that I would offer to you during this time, I would say that you continue acting strong not only for you but also for your daughter. When she sees all that you are doing for her by going to such lengths to help her become healthy and end this destructive habit, this would hopefully give her some motivation to discontinue her cutting. From personal experience and books and articles that I've read, cutting usually stems from some sort of attention issue. It could also be from something much worse, but hopefully this isn't the case for your daughter. Keep up the amazing work that you are doing so far by looking at all of your options for help. I wish you luck with everything and if you ever would like to talk about the issue, I am here to talk. Good luck! -Christie
