    About Me

    I'm not sure what to say. Canadian prairie gal, who lost my nearly 17 year old cat, Max, May 14th, 2008. Looking for support, advice, and words of wisdom....and trying to offer the same to others. The hugs and messages, etc, people have sent me....I still haven't got a hang of this site, so, sorry if you sent me one and it hasn't been returned. You can be sure it has been read and appreciated.

      From Jaken June 4

      I read your post about feeling guilty! I feel the same way sometimes. My Jake (passed on 4/30) had a good life, but I often think I could and should have made it even better. Here's a hug because I know exactly how you feel. To Better Days, and to Max & Jake. Loleen

      Your name made me think you might be someone I knew by a different name before. Nevertheless, I understand the pain of losing your dearest four-legged friend. {{{Lots of Hugs}}}

      I wanted to thank you for your kind and helpful words. I'm so sorry about the loss of your cat. I know how difficult it can be to lose a pet, and all I can say is that the grief process takes some time- don't rush. Allow yourself to mourn and you will heal. I'm here if you ever need to talk

      I did do some of that for Zorro, who died in his sleep. I'd prayed that he would go that way because he was a gentle dog and he deserved it. We spent extra time together, I curled up in his bed at night to help him fall asleep. I cried and talked to him afterwards. It wasn't enough for me. I had to feel like his spirit was back here with me so I could have that closure. I will never forget that experience.

      So sorry for you and Max, and that you felt you weren't there to say good bye. That's an awful feeling, I know. Talk to Max. He can hear you. Tell him all the things you would have told him, and he will hear you.
