Close Empty Nests

I became a step-parent 5.5 years ago. I have been the primary parent for a wonderful boy who is now in college. We have a very strong bond. I have never had anyone in my life that I believe would always be in it. But this young man is my SON and we love each other unconditionally. I never new such love until he came into my life.

Patience Not Working

This is a new phase in my life. I was prepared to be a parent, but not prepared for it to change so dramatically.

Physical Exercise Somewhat Helpful

I walk and weight train. It helps me think and makes me feel better about myself. It is helping me to remember to take care of myself as well.

Psychotherapy Too Soon to Tell

I have found a LCSW who has gone through the Empty Nest Syndrome and understands what it is like. I have had one session and feel hopeful about future sessions.
